Maroona Primary School exists to support local families to raise their children. We are situated approximately 15km from Ararat on the Mortlake-Ararat Rd. The school's values of Honesty, Kindness, Respect and Excellence reflect the values of the wider community.
Students receive high quality, explicit instruction from highly trained, passionate staff with a strong emphasis on Mathematics and English. Students also study Physical Education, Health, Visual and Performing Arts, LOTE (Auslan), HASS and ICT. In 2025 the school will be involved in initiatives such as the Resilience Project, Art Therapy, and the Energy Breakthrough. Maroona Primary School is part of the Ararat Rural Cluster. Students participate in sporting and educational activities and camps with Moyston, Pomonal, Buangor, Ararat North, and Willaura Primary Schools.
At Maroona, teachers work closely with families to support students achieve great things. ‘We believe in being an outward facing school where parents and members of the community are welcomed.' Parent involvement and engagement with school has a big effect on student outcomes.
Prospective parents are invited to visit our school any time with a view to enrolment of their children. Come and see for yourself exactly how our multi-age classes benefit our students, and see what small class sizes and low student to teacher ratios actually mean in terms of students' learning outcomes. We acknowledge the Eastern Maar people, the Traditional Owners of the land on which on which we learn, play, and grow, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
